Bristol Temple Meads Platform 13 - 15 Client: Railtrack Designers: Carl Bro Form of Contract: Design & Construct RT/16 Dates work carried out: 1999 Value: £2,000,000 Design and construct contract for refurbishment of existing station facilities to increase passenger throughput and achieve compliance with new standards for health & safety. Work was carried out within a major operational station. Tasks had to be planned to mitigate any impact on station passengers. Works included platform extensions, including drainage, re-gauging and resurfacing. There was also significant realignment of the track and associated signalling alterations to the operational station signal box. The existing waiting rooms and toilet facilities were fully refurbished, together with a new lift and lighting improvements. Finally customer information systems and fire alarms were updated and incorporated into main station. |
