The Bognor Northern Relief Road is part of the wider scheme to develop 1,350 new homes in Felpham and Bersted, north of Bognor Regis.

The project involves the construction of a bridge over the railway, a viaduct structure over the watercourse as well as several culverts and the roadway, itself within a floodplain.

The structure comprises;

  • 16 spans
  • CFA foundations, up to 25m deep and 900mm in diameter
  • Insitu piers consisting of 5 transitions and columns up to 8m in height each with an insitu crosshead
  • Precast abutment beams
  • Insitu deck 15m in width.
